Aircraft Appraisal

Wes_Pace_aircraft_appraisals_06Just thought I would share my thoughts on the appraiser, Wes Pace, who came to look at our JetProp this past Friday. Normally, I would not have any opinion to offer as the process has little to do with me- the Seller. But in this case and on this type aircraft, I thought it worth mentioning how impressed I was with this particular appraiser.

What first caught my attention is he had taken the time to educate himself about the aircraft and its market. Prior to arrival, he had contacted the factory for information about JetProps in general and N531MA in particular. He had researched the market for “comps” and had even chased down past “comp” sales for reference. In viewing the aircraft, it became apparent Wes was also a pilot as he knew what to look for on an airplane. Many appraisers I have worked with in the past had very little idea of what they were looking at and could do little more than attest to color and the fact that the airplane was, in fact, on premise. Wes crawled all over and under the airplane to check the normally “unseen” items that can tell a great deal about an airplane.

While he shared very little with me, I was impressed with the thorough nature of the evaluation. Enough that I may call on him for my own preliminary evaluations of aircraft I am looking to buy in the future.

Anyway, just thought I would offer my two cents on this guy. He is a professional.


PS: if you ever send me a real dud for an appraiser, I would take the time to let you know that too.

Wes made the auction effortless and painless for us. He assisted departments on property, kept in regular contact and stuck to his timeline. Although the auction was small, Wes put forth 100% of effort daily. Even after the auction was over, he has been willing to assist us with some of the customers. We had a very successful auction. The auction brought in 100% over what we had projected.  Wes was focused and stayed committed to our auction. We would highly recommend Wes Pace for your auction.

On behalf of the Autism Cares Foundation, I want to thank you for your help and your role in our recent gala and auction. As this was the first time we put an event like this on, we had a lot of enthusiasm, but not necessarily a lot of “know-how.” Your advice in the weeks leading up to the event, including guidance on how to run a live auction and a silent auction, what kind of items to procure, and how to “package” or “position” the items was invaluable.

Both you and your “Ringman” (Bill Howze) were instrumental in executing a successful “live auction”, through the way in which you raised the energy of the crowd and kept the bidding going upwards. All in all, after paying our expenses for the event, our organization was able to clear over $70,000 from this event that we will be able to put towards the programs we sponsor for children with autism, and their families, as well as towards the Autism Resource Center that we aspire to open. It surpassed all of our goals for the evening, and we consider it to be a great success. We want you to know that we greatly appreciate your role in helping us achieve this success.
